Airbnb Stock Rose as Earnings Beat Analysts’ Forecast

On Tuesday, Airbnb rose after releasing its strongest fourth quarter, surpassing experts’ earnings per share and revenue estimates. Its stock price increased by 3.82% to $120.87 per share on February 14. Likewise, it is anticipated to improve further by 9.95% to $132.90 apiece in the upcoming session.

Its earnings per share were $0.48, beating the experts’ forecast of $0.25. Still, it is lower than the previous $1.79 data. Also, its revenue came at $1.90 billion, above the $1.86 billion market estimates but below the former $2.88 billion figures. Nevertheless, it marked a 24.00% year-over-year rise.

According to analysts, the rental platform reported $319.00 million in net income. The progress is a leap from the $55.00 million from the previous year. Moreover, it had $506.00 million in adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA), surpassing the expected $432.00 million record.

Meanwhile, Airbnb added more employees to their headcount, ending 2022 with 6,811 staff. Currently, they are continuing the hiring process at a sensible pace.

Furthermore, it recorded $13.50 billion in Q4 in gross booking value for host earnings, service and cleaning fees, and taxes. It had 88.20 million nights and experiences booked in that quarter, up by 20.00% YoY. However, it is below the presumed 89.70 million by experts.

On Tuesday, Airbnb announced they would offer the chance to book an overnight stay at the Palais Garnier. Tourism recovers in Europe after several years of pandemic interferences as flocks of US visitors arrived in France.

Additionally, guests can stay at the Box of Honor as part of the Phantom of the Opera theme. The box will be transformed into a luxurious bedroom.

Also, there are more experiences included in the package. This comprises an underground lake tour and watching a recital by artists from the Paris Opera Academy. It includes a dinner in the Foyer de la Danse and much more. However, Airbnb is on a first-come-first-served basis. Therefore, guests can request the exclusive stay on March 01 as it will take place on July 16.
