AMC, Sony Offers NFTs to Spider-Man Advance Ticket Buyers

On Monday, AMC and Sony announced plans to offer non-fungible tokens to members who will pre-order the December 16 tickets of the latest Spider-Man movie.

The companies will give free 86,000 NFTs to advance US ticket buyers from Stubs Premiere, A-List, and Investor Connect members.

Subsequently, those customers must have their account number associated with their transaction.

Then, there will also be scanning of movie tickets as the guest arrives at the theater location. Refunded purchases or unused tickets will not have their corresponding code.

Qualified customers for the offer will receive an email with redemption instructions on December 22.

Then, they can redeem their Spiderman token by March 1, 2022, at a dedicated site operated by the WAX blockchain.

Accordingly, this virtual ledger records the ownership of the digital coin. It is the most utilized blockchain in the world, processing 15.00 million transactions daily.

At the same time, it is also an eco-friendly platform dedicated to energy-efficient, ultra-low carbon footprint processes.

However, compared to most traditional crypto, a person can not trade one NFT for another as they would with dollars or other assets.

Correspondingly, it behaves as a collector’s item, modeling them unique by layout.

Last Sunday, AMC mentioned that more than 100 token designs are available in partnership with powerhouse animation firm Cub Studios.

Subsequently, the ticket sales for the Spiderman: No Way Home movie started today.

Furthermore, theater giant is the newest legacy company to enter the NFT game.

It is also the most significant movie exhibition business that operates through 950 theatres and 10,500 screens worldwide.

In the pre-market, its shares shed 0.05% or 0.02 points to $37.61 per share on rising concern over the new COVID variant.

AMC’s Spider-Man Ticket High Demand Crashed Sites

Meanwhile, domestic movie ticket sites crashed at midnight of November 29 as moviegoers rushed to snag seats for the Spiderman: No Way Home movie.

Correspondingly, this marked a sign that the film theater industry continuously recovered from the pandemic.

In the last six months, the box office slowly rebounded from the crushed demand brought by the tight health restrictions.

Additionally, analysts fueled investors’ optimism as they mentioned that AMC’s Spider-Man could post 100.00 million in its debut.

In 2017, the previous solo film for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man opened at $117.00 million. Consequently, it recorded a $92.00 million opening profit in 2019.

While, Raimi’s 2002 “Spider-Man” was the first movie to garner $100.00 million on its initial release at the box office.
