Apple Launches Its First Online Store In India

Apple has started retailing its products straight to consumers in the world’s second-largest smartphone market.

Apple put its online store in India on Wednesday. This allows nearly the entire line-up of its products and brings various services for the first time to users. India is the 38th market for Apple, where it has started its online store.

In India, users can now buy AppleCare+, which increases warranty on products, and access the trade-in program to get a discount on new hardware purchases. The company stated it would also submit customers’ support through chat or telephone and let users advise its team of experts before they make a procurement. In fact, Apple is even letting customers order customized versions of iMac, MacBook Air, Mac Mini, and other Mac computers — something it started offline through its authorized partners only in late May in India.

The company is also offering customers the ability to pay for their purchases in monthly installments.

Apple usually begins investing in marketing, brand raising, and other investments in a market solely after it launches a store.

Lately, Apple has visibly become more engaged in India, one of the world’s fastest-growing smartphone businesses. The company’s contract operators gather the latest generation of iPhone models and accessories, which the company introduced two years ago.

The opening price of the iPhone 11 Pro Max is $1,487 in India, related to $1,099 in the U.S. (It began to meet some iPhone 11 models in India only lately.) The AirPods Pro, which sells at $249 in the U.S., was made available in India at $341 at the time of launch.

Apple has likewise been attempting to inaugurate its store in India for a couple of years. However, local regulations made it difficult for the company to expand in the country. But in recent quarters, India has eased many of its rules. New Delhi released sourcing standards for single-brand retailers the prior year, covering how businesses like Apple can open online stores before placing up a residence in the brick-and-mortar market.

This year, India also launched a $6.6 billion incentive program to boost local smartphone manufacturing. South Korean giant Samsung and Apple’s record production associates Foxconn, Wistron, and Pegatron, amongst others, have appealed for the incentive program.

Unlike most foreign firms that offer their products and services for free in India or at some of the world’s lowest prices, Apple has focused entirely on a small fraction of the community that can support paying big money, Kolla answered. And that approach has run fine for the business, The chief analyst at consultancy firm Convergence Catalyst Jayanth Kolla discussed. Apple dominates the section of premium smartphones in India.
