Apple Stocks Surge Amid Reports to Delay AI Features Launch

On Monday, Apple stocks increased despite reports showing that the iPhone maker is delaying the launch of its artificial intelligence (AI) features.

In the Asian afternoon session, the tech giant stock rose by 0.15% to $218.29 apiece in the pre-market session.

According to reports, Apple’s looming AI features will arrive later than expected and will miss the initial launch of the iPhone and iPad operating systems (OS) update.

Furthermore, the California-based company aims to launch Apple Intelligence to users in its software overhaul by October. These AI features will also be revealed a few weeks after the initial September launch of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18.

Additionally, the iPhone maker plans to make Apple Intelligence available to software developers for testing debut this week through iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 betas.

However, Apple has not immediately responded to comment beyond regular working hours.

Meanwhile, last month, the company highlighted its AI push with many fresh features and software improvements for its devices to boost its sluggish sales.

Apple Intelligence, which uses AI to produce text, photos, and other content on command, would be available on iPhone 15 Pro, Pro Max, iPad, and Mac with its M1 chip and later versions.

Moreover, iPhone Mirroring on MacOS Sequoia gains access to the phone’s screen to appear and interact with Mac devices.

iPhone 16 Models to Ship Without Apple Intelligence

According to reports, early iPhone 16 units will be shipped out without pre-installed Apple Intelligence as the firm delays the AI feature release.

Reports added that Apple plans to launch the AI feature through multiple software updates to be released late this year and the first half of 2025.

Meanwhile, some iPhone users running iOS 18 beta have discovered a new keyboard option, which allows them to create an emoji as they open the Emoji picker.

However, the feature was removed in the revision of the iOS 18 beta build.
