Apple to Ditch Old USB-A Ports on the New Mac Mini

According to reports, the new Apple Mac mini will be the next device to stop using the USB-A port and replace it with a thinner USB-C one.

Despite the new charging port’s advantages, the transition may confuse users when looking for adapters.

Moreover, the Mac mini has not received any significant change since 2010. However, reports say that it will be redesigned this fall.

The updated models include the iOS maker’s new M4 chip, five USB-C ports, an Ethernet port, an HDMI connector, and a headphone jack. The chassis size will also be reduced by ditching the USB-A port.

Since the new device is rumored to be similarly sized to an Apple TV, it eliminates the need to carry around a separate power brick. In addition, it is said to have its own internal power supply.

Sources reported that the latest Mac mini M4 may be the most premium and is anticipated to ship in October.

Also, Apple has a Glowtime press event on September 09, during which it is expected to announce the new iPhone 16. Neither the M4 nor the M4 Proc Mac mini will be showcased, as the new Mac lineup’s reveal may be held until later in the fall.

Indian Telecom Partners with Apple for Advancements

An Indian telecommunications giant partners with Apple to boost the iPhone maker’s competition in the content market. The tech firm trails Spotify and Walt Disney within the sector.

The iPhone maker aims to spike its revenue globally from services and plans to offer free music and video streaming. It targets most of Bharti Airtel’s 281 million customers.

Furthermore, the contract can potentially expand Apple TV+ and Apple Music’s user base in India as it tries to diversify its supply chain beyond China.

The former head of Amazon Prime Video in India said the move highlights the US firm’s ambitions for New Delhi.
