On Wednesday, Apple Incorporated received an issued call from the European Commission (EC) to end its geo-blocking practices.
In line with this, the body and other authorities asked the tech giant to follow the European Union’s (EU) anti-geo-blocking rules. The Consumer Protection Cooperation (CPC) Network of national consumer authorities in the EU also called for the company to rectify its practices.
Based on reports, Apple conducts geo-blocking practices in its App Store, iTunes Store, and other applications. The authorities discovered that the corporation’s media services utilize a separate user interface for different countries.
Additionally, individuals can only access the interface created for the country where they have registered their account. Correspondingly, consumers encounter major challenges when they try to make any changes.
At the same time, users are not able to purchase when using cards that are not issued in the country where their account is registered. On top of this, the CPC Network found that consumers cannot download apps available in other countries.
In connection with this, the practices of Apple across the EU and European Economic Area (EEA) violate the anti-geo-blocking regulations.
Furthermore, the iPhone maker is called to address the findings within a month and provide possible solutions.

Apple is reportedly planning to launch an artificial intelligence (AI), wall-mounted tablet that can perform multiple tasks.
It was said that the display can manage video conferencing activities and control appliances. The big tech’s device is also capable of navigating apps using smart technology.
In addition, the wall tablet could look like a square-shaped iPad with a size of two iPhones. The news indicates that the display is around six inches and the unit would be available in silver and black.
Moreover, the AI device from Apple might roll out in March to rival Google and Amazon in the smart home race.
