AU stocks end higher; S&P/ASX 200 up 0.01%

Australia stocks were higher after the close Thursday, with gains in Healthcare, Consumer Discretionary, and Financials sectors leading shares higher. The S&P/ASX 200 added 0.01% at the close in Sydney.

The session’s best performers on the S&P/ASX 200 were Treasury Wine Estates Ltd. They rose 17.46% or 1.770 points to trade at 11.910 at the close. IPH Ltd added 9.80% or 0.60 points to end at 6.72. Moreover, Tabcorp Holdings Ltd was up 5.67% or 0.250 points to 4.660.

The session’s worst performers were NRW Holdings Ltd. They fell 17.14% or 0.48 points to trade at 2.32 at the close. United Malt Group Ltd declined 6.60% or 0.26 points to end at 3.68. Furthermore, Bendigo And Adelaide Bank Ltd were down 6.50% or 0.72 points to 10.35.

On the Sydney Stock Exchange, falling stocks exceeded advancing ones by 799 to 585, and 324 ended unchanged.

United Malt Group Ltd shares fell to all-time lows, falling 6.60% or 0.26 to 3.68.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX was down 5.77% to 14.376.

Japan stocks end lower at the close of trade; Nikkei 225 fall 0.19%

Elsewhere, Japan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday. Losses in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus, and Real Estate sectors led to lower shares.

The Nikkei 225 declined 0.19% at the close in Tokyo. The session’s best performers on the Nikkei 225 were Fast Retailing Co., Ltd. They rose 4.58% or 4700.0 points to trade at 107350.0 at the close. DeNA Co Ltd added 2.99% or 64.0 points to end at 2208.0. Moreover, Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co Ltd was up 2.44% or 42.0 points to 1764.0.

The session’s worst performers were Mazda Motor Corp. They fell 6.28% or 58.0 points to trade at 866.0 at the close.

Hino Motors, Ltd.) declined 5.43% or 58.0 points to end at 1010.0. Furthermore, Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd. was down 5.26% or 490.0 points to 8820.0.

On the Tokyo Stock Exchange, falling stocks exceeded advancing ones by 2758 to 821, and 173 ended unchanged.

Fast Retailing Co., Ltd. shares rose to all-time highs, up 4.58% or 4700.0 to 107350.0. DeNA Co Ltd shares rose to 52-week highs, gaining 2.99% or 64.0 to 2208.0.

The Nikkei Volatility was unchanged from 0% to 23.63.
