AU Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; S&P/ASX 200 Gains 0.43%

Australia stocks were higher Thursday after the close, with gains in the IT, A-REITs, and Financials sectors’ leading shares.

The S&P/ASX 200 added 0.43% at the close in Sydney.

The outperformers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Pro Medicus Ltd (ASX:PME). They rose 14.98% or 4.76 points to trade at 36.53 at the close. 

Moreover, Afterpay Touch Group Ltd (ASX:APT) climbed 9.74% or 10.74 points to end at 121.00. Incitec Pivot Ltd (ASX:IPL) gained 5.46% or 0.130 points to 2.510 in late trade.

Furthermore, the session’s worst performers were Adelaide Brighton Ltd (ASX:ABC). They declined 4.91% or 0.160 points to trade at 3.100 at the close. 

Abacus Property Group (ASX:ABP) fell 4.48% or 0.13 points to end at 2.77. Premier Investments Ltd (ASX:PMV) lost 3.83% or 0.97 points to 24.38.

Additionally, rising stocks exceeded declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 718 to 583, and 366 ended unchanged.

Therefore, Pro Medicus Ltd (ASX:PME) shares were up to 52-week highs, gaining 14.98% or 4.76 to 36.53. 

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX was down 4.33% to 13.617.

Japan Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; Nikkei 225 Gains 0.85%

Additionally, Japan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday. Gains in the Railway & Bus, Paper & Pulp, and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.

The Nikkei 225 added 0.85% to hit a new 5-year high at the close in Tokyo.

The outperformers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Nikon Corp. (T:7731). They rose 7.21% or 54.0 points to trade at 803.0 at the close. 

Moreover, Yaskawa Electric Corp. (T:6506) gained 5.30% or 300.0 points to end at 5960.0. Bridgestone Corp. (T:5108) added 5.12% or 190.0 points to 3900.0 in late trade.

The session’s worst performers were GS Yuasa Corp. (T:6674). They declined 5.02% or 165.0 points to trade at 3120.0 at the close.

Furthermore, Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (T:9107) fell 4.70% or 104.0 points to end at 2110.0, and JFE Holdings, Inc. (T:5411) lost 4.70% or 51.0 points to 1035.0.

Falling stocks exceeded advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2041 to 1495, and 212 ended unchanged.

Yaskawa Electric Corp. shares (T:6506) were up to 52-week highs, gaining 5.30% or 300.0 to 5960.0.

The Nikkei Volatility was unchanged from 0% to 21.48.
