On Tuesday, Google is taking hits from the claim of Microsoft about the involvement in shadow campaigns targeting its cloud business.
According to deputy general counsel Rima Alaily, the big tech will launch another astroturf this week. The group is allegedly designed to discredit the software giant and mislead the public.
In line with this, she added that Google recruits European cloud providers to appear as the face of the organization. Alaily also linked the actions to the company’s strategy of hiding its connection in funding and controlling the group.
More concretely, one of the companies from Europe that declined the offer eventually tipped off Microsoft. It even revealed that the organization’s purpose is to attack the computing business of the Washington-based corporation in the United Kingdom.
Additionally, Google supposedly made efforts to obstruct the Windows maker’s settlement with Cloud Infrastructure Services Providers in Europe. The deputy general indicated that members received an offer worth $500.00 million to resume pursuing the litigation.
Meanwhile, the search engine company scrutinized Microsoft about its licensing fees for Windows Server. Spokesperson Laura Wheeler stressed that these are anti-competitive practices that affect cybersecurity and innovation through negative downstream effects.
Furthermore, both industry leaders show hints of a restored rivalry focused on cloud competition.
Pixel Customers Get a Special Offer from Google
As indicated by reports, customers of the Pixel devices will receive a special offer from Google. Correspondingly, the tech giant launched a refurbished section of its US store.
In connection with this, earlier smartphones from the Pixel 6 and 7 lineup include discounts that reach up to forty percent.
Google emphasized that the units are certified refurbished but went through several tests to ensure the quality. The company highlighted that components used for the older devices are authentic parts.
Moreover, the offer retains the same warranty and customer support that consumers would obtain after buying a brand-new Pixel device.
