On Thursday, Google rolled out the Gmail Q&A feature for Android users, powered by its Gemini artificial intelligence (AI).
According to reports, the tech giant has started allowing users to use its chatbot to ask queries about their Gmail inbox on the web. The new feature will also launch on Android devices and soon be available to iOS users.
Google disclosed that users can use the tool to assist them with their inboxes or look for specific details in their emails. The company first introduced Gmail Q&A at its I/O conference this year.
Furthermore, subscribers can unlock the feature by clicking the black star logo, now synonymous with Gemini across Google’s products, in the app’s top-right corner.
This feature is also accessible to those with a paid Google One AI Premium subscription. The rollout for Android users is expected to be completed by mid-September.
However, access to users’ emails is limited, but the firm plans to extend this capability to include files in their Drive accounts.
Meanwhile, earlier this week, Google revealed that users accessing the Gemini Advanced AI model can now create custom AI chatbots using a Custom Gems feature. This feature is also available to those with a paid Google One AI Premium subscription.
Gemini Updates of Google Unveils Gems
Google has unveiled Gems, its Gemini-powered customizable chatbot, which can modify how the AI responds.
Moreover, users who wish to create a chatbot tailored for specific tasks will be able to design and customize their own. For instance, someone who wants to develop a chatbot specialized in accounting can personalize it depending on their tasks.
According to reports, Google is also introducing premade Gems to help users get started. These Gems include a Learning Coach, Brainstormer, Career Guide, Writing Editor, and Coding Partner.
Furthermore, chatbots are being rolled out for Gemini Advanced, Business, and Enterprise subscribers.
