According to Executive Director Yu Chengdong, Huawei will roll out the most powerful version of the flagship mobile in November. However, the information from the official did not include more details, which prompted widespread interest from individuals online.
In line with this, the market projects that the new Mate device uses the fresh operating system of the corporation. Prior to this, the tech conglomerate released its supposedly first fully homegrown mobile system software in China.
Additionally, Huawei opted for self-reliance in its technologies amid tight competition in the smartphone landscape. Consequently, analysts indicate that it became less susceptible to external restrictions and reduced its vulnerability.
More importantly, the company ranked third overall in China after capturing 15.30% of the market. Likewise, the Mate 60 series generated a double-digit year-over-year boost for four consecutive quarters.
Meanwhile, Huawei continues to make strides in the industry despite a crackdown by the US.
HarmonyOS of Huawei Challenges Android and iOS
As indicated by reports, the HarmonyOS of Huawei registered almost a 15.00% surge in market shares for the third quarter of 2024. Subsequently, the operating system entered the Chinese smartphone landscape, threatening the dominance of Android.
In connection with this, the telecom leader defying US sanctions rendered huge investments in creating mobile software. A growing ecosystem and the inclusion of native applications and services also attracted more users.
Furthermore, it is still uncertain if the HarmonyOS of Huawei can maintain its momentum and seize market shares of Android. Nevertheless, the shift in the global tech industry poses a potential challenge to the duopoly, including iOS.
