On Friday, the latest Huawei smartphones went on sale in China, and the $2,800.00 tri-fold phones were offered at double the price of the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
According to analysts, issues about supplies can leave numerous Mate XT buyers disappointed. The new device launched is able to navigate US sanctions and solidify its position against Apple in China.
Huawei Technologies released the Mate XT this month due to the tech hype. Its Executive Director, Richard Yu, said the company made science fiction into reality, as the device can fold three ways like an accordion door.
So far, pre-orders have exceeded 6.50 million, almost twice the number of the 3.90 million foldable smartphones shipped globally in the second quarter of the year.
Despite the Mate XT’s innovation in the premium segment, sales may plummet from its bi-folding predecessor, the Mate X5, which still retails for $1.630.00. Experts also mentioned that both foldable phones differ in value proposition, specifications, and price.
They added that the latest Huawei trifold smartphone may find it difficult to replicate the success of the Mate X5. However, the bi-folding device made a massive breakthrough and evolution in all these aspects.
In addition, tech analysts said the Mate XT may only produce around 500,00 units initially due to high production costs.

The 12 X tablet showcases a slim and lightweight design, which appeals to younger people, and it is available in three vibrant color options.
Moreover, the 5.90mm Huawei tablet makes it easier for users to maintain productivity. The Chinese company also claims that the new device maximizes consumers’ creative potential.
Moreover, the MatePad 12 X aims to provide a PC-level productivity experience, as the tech giant introduced support for WPS Office. It would have a similar layout and interface for document handling.
