Japan Stocks Ended Higher; Nikkei 225 up 0.09%

Japanese stocks ended higher, Tuesday, with gains in the Railway & Bus, Paper & Pulp, and Real Estate sectors leading shares higher.

The Nikkei 225 gained 0.09% to hit a new 5-year high at the close in Tokyo.

Moreover, the outperformers of the Nikkei 225 were Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. (T:9501). They were up 8.97% or 27.0 points to trade at 328.0 at the close. 

Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (T:4519) rose 5.91% or 327.0 points to end at 5862.0. Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. (T:6504) added 4.89% or 195.0 points to 4185.0 in late trade.

Furthermore, the session’s worst performers were Oji Holdings Corp. (T:3861). They declined 5.20% or 35.0 points to trade at 638.0 at the close. 

Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (T:9107) fell 4.89% or 111.0 points to end at 2160.0. Japan Steel Works Ltd (T:5631) lost 4.78% or 160.0 points to 3185.0.

On the Tokyo Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 1865 to 1702, and 183 ended unchanged.

In Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (T:4519), shares climbed 52-week highs, up 5.91% or 327.0 to 5862.0. Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. (T:6504) shares rose to 52-week highs, up 4.89% or 195.0 to 4185.0.

Subsequently, Australia stocks ended lower on Tuesday. Leading shares lower were losses in the IT, A-REITs, and Healthcare sectors.

The S&P/ASX 200 was down 0.27% at the close in Sydney. 

Moreover, the outperformers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were ARB Corporation Ltd (ASX:ARB). They rose 5.75% or 1.82 points to trade at 33.47 at the close. 

Meanwhile, Super Retail Group Ltd (ASX:SUL) added 5.47% or 0.60 points to end at 11.56. United Malt Group Ltd (ASX:UMG) rose 4.09% or 0.16 points to 4.07 in late trade.

Furthermore, the session’s worst performers were Polynovo Ltd (ASX:PNV). They fell 12.98% or 0.440 points to trade at 2.950 at the close. 

Additionally, OZ Minerals Ltd (ASX:OZL) declined 3.85% or 0.81 points to end at 20.22. Netwealth Group Ltd (ASX:NWL) was down 3.40% or 0.51 points to 14.50.
