On Tuesday, Meta reportedly will unveil the list of popular celebrities behind the looming artificial intelligence (AI) audio tool that is speculated to be released this week.
According to reports, the tech giant will announce the names of five actors who will allegedly be voice actors in its new AI chatbot. These celebrities are John Cena, Judy Dench, Kristen Bell, Awkwafina, and Keegan-Michael Key.
Furthermore, sources noted that Meta has already acquired agreements with Dench, Bell, and Cena. The Facebook parent firm also plans to unveil the deals this week at its annual Connect conference event.
In addition, Meta will let users pick a voice for its ChatGPT-like digital assistant from the list of voice actors.
Celebrity voices are expected to be introduced this week in the US and other English-speaking regions across the company’s apps, such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
However, as the feature evolves, languages such as Hindi and others will likely be included to serve a global audience better.
Meta AI will provide various voice options to match individual preferences, including three unique UK accents and two in the US, each differing in pitch and tone.
Moreover, CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently posted a promotional video on Instagram featuring John Cena. In the video, along with others, they perform stunts while wearing Ray-Ban Meta glasses.
Gen-AI Push of Meta to Rival OpenAI, Google
Meta has been rapidly developing and releasing gen-AI products to its billions of users as it competes with OpenAI and Google for dominance in this emerging technology.
As part of this effort, the firm has been enhancing its chatbot’s features and working to integrate it more prominently into the user experience across its apps.
Meanwhile, OpenAI launched an audio feature for its chatbot in May but quickly faced backlash.
Actress Scarlett Johansson accused the ChatGPT maker of making the voice sound eerily like hers, even though she had declined to be involved in the project.
