Meta to release new features for Facebook and Instagram creators

Meta announces new Facebook and Instagram features on Wednesday that will enhance the experience for content creators. The new features are expected to help the creators grow their communities and earn more income.

Instagram will allow its creators to make and sell NFTs

According to the Meta, one of the new features will enable Instagram content creators to make their own NFTs and sell them directly to their audience.

For this venture, Meta chose Polygon as their first partner, adding that they are currently testing this new feature with a small group of US-based content creators and hope that they could test it in different countries soon.

Before this announcement from Meta, Twitter also reported on October 28 that they would allow users to buy, sell, and display NFTs directly on tweets naming the feature “NFT Tweet Tiles.”

According to a representative, the new Twitter feature is being tested together with select Twitter users across the web and iOS.

Along with selling Instagram NFT, the tech giant also plans to expand access to paid Instagram subscriptions for all US content creators.

Expanding access to Facebook stars and Instagram subscription

By expanding access to Facebook stars and Instagram subscriptions, Meta aims to increase its platform creators’ income and help them get closer to their audiences.

Instagram subscription is a new feature that Meta released earlier this year. Through this feature, creators could offer exclusive content and benefits to their most active followers at a monthly subscription fee.

Meta said in a post, “Since launching subscriptions earlier this year, we’ve seen creators like Cole Sprouse, Alan Chow, and Skai Jackson use subscriptions to get even closer to their most engaged supporters.”

Facebook’s New Professional Mode

Meta is also planning to launch a professional mode on Facebook that will allow its creators to separate their public and private presence.

Through this new mode, creators can earn money through Stars, Reels play, Facebook Reels’ ads, and in-stream ads. They can also get access to content and audience analytics, educational resources, and more.
