On Monday, Microsoft announced a 10-year partnership with the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) to develop new products and services.
Under the agreement, the tech giant will use its AI capabilities to enhance the exchange’s Data & Analytics business. Furthermore, LSEG’s key technology infrastructure will migrate into Microsoft Azure.
Additionally, the two companies agreed to explore cloud technology and digital market infrastructure developments. Consequently, they will use Azure Machine Learning and the exchange’s advanced analytics to co-create new solutions and services for financial institutions.
Particularly, the development will focus on construction, diagnostics, deployment, and validation to minimize expense and labor.
Accordingly, the infrastructure plan will become the foundation for the partnership’s programs. Through the arrangement, the US-based tech firm bought an equity stake worth 4.00% in the exchange.
Moreover, Microsoft Cloud and AI group Executive Vice President Scott Guthrie will be appointed LSEG’s non-executive director.
Meanwhile, the financial firm expects meaningful revenue growth through the partnership.
In particular, the London-based institution predicts an incremental cash cost of around $306.21 to $367.45 million. Likewise, the exchange committed a minimum of $2.80 billion in cloud-related expenditures over the term of the partnership.
Looking forward, Microsoft will establish a governance structure that will be accountable and responsible for the delivery of the listed programs.
Microsoft added an update to the Snipping Tool that could capture videos on the desktop. This upgrade came as the tech giant rolled out Windows Insiders and will be available in version 11.2211.35.0 of the program.
To enable the feature, users must click the new Record option after opening the app.
Accordingly, the software will ask to select a part of the screen before the recording session begins. However, the tech firm warned about the possible issues that might occur before and during the operation. Particularly, there may be some slight delay, and the feature might fail to restore itself when starting a new snip.
Looking forward, Microsoft added that the software would eventually be available for Windows users without needing installation.
