On Friday, Microsoft Corporation once again pushes the roll-out date of its controversial Recall feature, underscoring security concerns.
Prior to this, the tech giant originally scheduled the debut in June but was delayed multiple times amid safety problems. On top of that, the company announced that it needs more time to finish preparing the functionality.
According to Microsoft Senior Product Manager Brandon LeBlanc, they are dedicated to providing a secure Recall experience. For this reason, it will be preview-ready by December with Windows Insiders on Copilot Plus PCs.
Based on reports, the feature takes screenshots of everything there is on the new class of Windows 11 artificial intelligence (AI) computers. Correspondingly, it allows users to be capable of retrieving things they visited and saw.
More importantly, Recall enables browsing through the snapshots taken on a specific day in an explorable timeline.
Also, Microsoft removed the functionality over the summer, which appears to generate some bugs in how it is controlled. Subsequently, the software developer is overhauling the security aspect to make it an optional experience.
In line with this, users would only be able to access it by authenticating through Windows Hello and have the choice to uninstall it completely.
Azure to Rise Slower in Quarter Two of Microsoft
The cloud business Azure of Microsoft might see slower advancements in the second quarter. As indicated by reports, the company’s large investments in AI were not sufficient to overcome its data centers’ capacity constraints.
However, Vice President of Investor Relations Brett Iversen revealed that the Windows maker could only address the limitations by this year’s second half.
In connection, Microsoft forecasts a 31.00% to 32.00% revenue growth for Azure, which falls below analysts’ outlook.
Moreover, the big tech pours $20.00 billion into building an AI infrastructure, raising hefty expenditure worries among investors.
