Microsoft Unveils Game-Changing All-Digital Xbox Consoles

On Sunday, Microsoft inaugurated its annual Xbox Games Showcase, revealing the latest all-digital Xbox Series X and S consoles and game trailers.

The event comes despite Xbox and Microsoft’s slump and publishers’ struggling with weak sales, layoffs, and studio shutdowns.

Moreover, the tech giant has introduced three gaming consoles, which include disc-less versions of the Xbox Series X and S consoles and a limited edition of the Series X with 2 terabytes (TB) of storage.

The hardware renovation aims to assist Xbox in boosting sales of its consoles to rival Sony’s PlayStation 5.

Xbox has announced that its latest consoles have an estimated retail price of Xbox Series S 1TB in Robot White for $349.99, Xbox Series X 1TB Digital Edition for $499.99, and Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Black Limited Edition for $599.99.

Moreover, the console’s X and S series hit the market last November 2020, the same month after the PlayStation 5 console rolled out.

Meanwhile, Xbox chief Phil Spencer discussed the leaks about the redesigned Xbox Series X last September, suggesting that the plans for Xbox hardware might have been altered.

Spencer added that it is difficult for the team to see their work shared in this manner because so much has changed, and there is much to be excited about, both currently and in the future.

Xbox Latest Games Unveils at Microsoft Annual Event

Microsoft has revealed the new list of games and hardware for its Xbox platform at its annual event.

One of the games on display was Doom: The Dark Ages, the newest installment in the most established Doom franchise, and a preview of the latest Gears of War title, which ended the five-year wait for one of Xbox’s famous properties.

On launch day, Xbox Game Pass will be available for many entertainment options, including Doom and Call of Duty. This demonstrates Microsoft’s unwavering commitment to the gaming landscape as it significantly strides in the subscription service industry.

The tech giant aims to provide a wide range of entertainment options to consumers, especially those facing economic challenges.

Following the event, Activision Blizzard’s studios presented a segment that showcased the features, characters, and gameplay of the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which is scheduled for release in October.
