Musk States Twitter Signups at All-Time High

Twitter Inc CEO Elon Musk says that platform users’ signups are at an all-time high and promises new features after the reinstatement of several banned controversial accounts.

Activists were reportedly urging advertisers to pull out of Twitter after its new CEO lifted the former US president Donald Trump’s account.

The activist starts the movement due to concern over the possible increase in hate speech and misinformation on the platform.

However, Musk’s tweet on Sunday suggested that his platform signups have been averaging about two million a day since November 16.

The billionaire also added that as of November 15, the minutes of active users were also at a record high at an average of eight billion active minutes a day, which was 30% above the same period last year.

Although impersonations rose earlier this month following the release of Twitter Blue, Musk’s presentation suggested that hate speech on the platform dropped since November 13.

The entrepreneur also explained in his tweet that his acquisition of the platform would boost the creation of Twitter 2.0 The Everything App, which will have features such as long-form tweets, direct encrypted messages, and payments.

Meanwhile, a separate tweet from Musk on Sunday added that he expects Twitter’s monthly users to exceed a billion in 12 to 18 months.

This prediction suggested that the platform would be on par with TikTok but would still be behind Instagram’s two billion and Facebook’s three billion.

Ireland Court Blocked Musk from Firing Twitter’s Top Exec

The Ireland High Court on Friday temporarily prevented Twitter’s public policy global vice president McSweeney from being fired, as the court considers if the social media company terminated her properly.

According to reports, McSweeney stated that the company gave her mixed signals, adding that she did not accept the severance package.

McSweeney was also reportedly locked out from Twitter’s Dublin Office and could not access the platform’s employee network.

The global policy president also claimed that Musk’s way of running the company was unorthodox and that the recent firing and rehiring without good reason was unlawful.

In the report, McSweeney added that she had a phone conversation with the CEO on November 13, where it was mentioned that the platform needed to rehire excellent staff that it had laid off.
