On Wednesday, Tesla Incorporated supported the rules in California regarding electric vehicles (EV), which Donald Trump opposed.
As reports revealed, Elon Musk’s company advocates for a climate policy for the state’s low-carbon fuel standard. The multinational automotive urged lawmakers in California to pursue the guidelines to promote EVs.
In line with this, the policy sets an emission limit on every transportation fuel being sold in the western state of the United States (US).
Tesla, along with other car makers, stated that significant benefits to the economy and environment were achieved by the program. The companies emphasized that they firmly support its continuation to enable greater advancement.
However, the endorsement that Musk is showing in the fight against climate change initiates tension in his interests.
More concretely, former US president Trump aims to prevent the rules in California despite the Tesla founder being an ally in his campaign run.
In addition, the Republican presidential candidate expressed that he will not allow the complete banning of gas-powered vehicles in the state.
Specifically, California targets passing a regulation that prohibits the sale of combustion engine trucks and cars by 2045 and 2035, respectively.
Accordingly, Trump pledged to dismantle the policy if he gets reelected for the position in the White House.
Xiaomi Rivals Tesla with Faster Flagship EV
Xiaomi launches a faster and more luxurious version of the SU7 electric sports car, setting a competition with Tesla.
The Chinese manufacturer joined the country’s EV market following the sanction it confronted in 2021 from the Trump administration.
According to Chief Executive Officer Lei Jun, the new SU7 is the fastest four-door vehicle in the world. He also stressed that Xiaomi built a powerful machine to pursue creating a dream car.
However, Tesla still offers a more efficient driving range despite the China-produced car being faster.
Nevertheless, Lei Jun showed the SU7 Ultra beating the speed specifications of the Porsche Taycan Turbo.
