World Stocks Mixed as US Almost Down, EU and Asia Mostly Up

On Thursday, August 5, world stocks were mixed as Wall Street was almost down, the EU was all up, and the Asia Pacific mostly climbed.

The MSCI World Stocks Index plummeted 0.22% with a net loss of $6.68. This sent the stocks to the bottom at $3,085.83 per share.

On Wall Street Street, the NASDAQ Composite Index is the only one that jumped. It gained 0.13% with a net increase of $19.24 sending the stocks higher at $14,781 per share.

Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average led the losses by 0.92% with a net decline of $323.73. This sent the stocks to the bottom at $34,793 per share.

The benchmark S&P 500 also fluctuated 0.46% with a net loss of $20.49. This sent the stock below at $4,403 per share.

In Europe, Germany’s DAX Index progressed 0.88% with a net addition of $137.05. This sent the stocks up at $15,692 per share.

Then, the country’s MDAX Performance Index followed. It ameliorated 0.53% with a net gain of $186.15 sending the stocks to $35,486 per share.

In the London Stock Exchange, both FTSE 100 Index and FTSE All-Share Index smashed 0.26%.

The former had a net increase of $18.14 sending the stocks to $7,124. Then, the latter had a net gain of $10.69 which sent the stocks to $4,085.

In the Paris Stocks Exchange, the CAC 40 Index soared 0.33% with a net addition of $22.42. This sent the stocks higher at $6,746 per share.

Additionally, the Global Dow Realtime EUR  hopped 0.08% or 2.57 points to $3,185.26.

Asia Pacific Stocks Mostly Up

Moreover, the MSCI All Countries Asia Pacific Stocks Index was boosted by 0.27% or 0.55 points. This sent the stock above to $201.17 per share.

On the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the Nikkei 225 spiked 0.44% with a net increase of $122.32. This sent the stocks up at $27,706 per share.

Then, the broader TOPIX index also surpassed 0.28% or 5.40 points to $1,926.83 per share.

Consequently, China’s Shanghai Composite Index hopped 0.09% or 3.17 points to $3,480.39 per share.

On the other hand, the Shenzhen Component Index subsided by 0.28% with a net decline of $41.53. This sent the stocks below at $14,948.58 per share.

Likewise, South Korea’s KOSPI also dropped 0.01% with a net loss of $0.42. This sent the stocks to the ground at $3,279.96 per share.
