FedEx Unveils Mixed Q3 Results, Revenue Drops

On Thursday, FedEx reported its mixed third-quarter financial data with weaker revenue as it combats lower demand with sharp cost cuts. Its stock price improved by 4.48% to $204.05 per share on March 16. Likewise, it is expected to rise by 11.54% to $227.60 in the upcoming session.

The company’s earnings per share jumped to $3.41, beating the experts’ $2.76 forecast, exceeding the previous $3.18 data. However, the revenue of FedEx declined to $22.20 billion, missing the $22.74 estimates. As a result, it is lower than the former $22.80 result.

According to analysts, the shipping business anticipates an adjusted EPS between $14.60 and $15.20 for the fiscal year 2023. The figures are up from the past $13.00 to $14.00 consensus. Also, it announced a net income of $771.00 million for the period, below the $1.11 billion in the same quarter last year.

Moreover, FedEx looks forward to making more than $4.00 billion in cost reductions by the end of FY 2025. It increased its shipping rates by an average of 6.90% at the beginning of the year to balance easing demand. The entity reported an added 11.00% in its revenue per shipment in the fiscal Q3.

Based on CEO Raj Subramaniam’s statement, FedEx keeps moving urgently to improve efficiency to drive a more robust outlook for this fiscal year.
