Meta cancelled its contract with the construction company Per Aarsleff Holding A/S to build two new data centers in Denmark.
The move would include the cancellation of contracts for existing design with contractors.
This decision came after Meta permanently postponed a similar project in Netherlands due to the resistance of local politicians.
Originally, the two data centers located in Odense Campus was scheduled to be completed next year and is set to open in 2025.
Moreover, the construction began with the expansion of the already installed, canteen, cables, foundations, and parking space.

Accordingly, the move aligns with the firm’s previous announcement to reexamine its development plans, ensuring that the new data centers could handle AI workloads.
Despite this, analyst may welcome this decision since it would lessen the company’s infrastructure expenditure.
Furthermore, Meta would be watched by the data center development community since it is one of the largest employers of the developers.

On Thursday, Meta announced on its end-of-year recap news that they focused on improving the safety and security of their platforms in 2022.
