Single Stock Futures Have Minor Rise as The Week Starts

Single stock futures have already seen some improvement over the last night, this Sunday. This already starts off the week on a good track, which is just as well, as many important earnings figures should arrive soon. So far, a few hot futures have risen in several indices. This includes the Dow Jones, the S&P 500, and the Nasdaq. The last 2 gained 0.18%, and 0.25% each.

Last week saw an ambivalent mood overall, as stock performance was quite middling. Over the course of the whole week, the S&P 500 gained 0.45%, the Dow by 0.79%, and the Nasdaq fell 0.20%. On balance then, not necessarily a positive performance, with only negligible gains and some losses. The Friday leading to the end of the week was especially poor, with a sudden dip occurring.

There have been reports that some financial firms are performing well. This includes the likes of JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo, rising by 1.50% and 3.00% each.

However, despite some good news, including the weekend future, traders are not feeling too confident. Stock market traders are expecting a volatile future with rising prices and Treasury yields. Especially important is the rise of possible conflicts in the Middle East.

Oil Prices Rise Due To The Middle Eastern Conflict

Oil prices have been rising yet again last Friday, up by 5.00%. So that had been their best session since April. The most likely reason for the ascent is Hamas’ attack on Israel and the fallout that followed it. This has led to traders speculating about oil price rises, as geopolitical tensions mount.

So recent events have exposed that owning equities always comes with risks. Traders always look for the volume of returns to be large enough to justify the risks.

11.00% of S&P 500 companies should be releasing earnings reports this week, with implications for single stock futures. This includes the likes of Netflix, Tesla, and Bank of America, among others.
