On Monday, SK Broadband reported settling all conflicts with Netflix after filing lawsuits about paying for network traffic growth.
The lawsuit gathered attention as the internet provider and the global streaming giant battled. It was a concern about who is accountable for consistent network quality due to traffic load growth from the platform.
Together with its parent company, SK Telecom, it announced they agreed on a partnership with Netflix. An official statement said they aim to launch joint products and find ways to utilize artificial intelligence products from SK.
Also, the statement confirmed that all disputes would end before their collaboration as partners were signed. In addition, related services are planned to roll out in 2024’s first half.
According to Tony Zameczkowski, Netflix’s VP of Asia-Pacific partnerships, the merger would hold great significance. Moreover, it would allow Netflix to improve entertainment experiences for a bigger Korean audience.
He added that the streaming platform plans to create and deliver the best stories globally to Korean members and audiences. Furthermore, he has high expectations for the partnership’s journey to serve customers with SK Telecom and SK Broadband.
SK Telecom’s Choi Hwan-Seok said the collab results from both companies’ willingness to provide a better media service environment.
Yash Raj Films and Netflix Collaborate
Yash Raj Films and Netflix have officially announced their groundbreaking multi-year collaboration in producing digital content. According to reports, they will bring a new era of blockbusters.
Moreover, the reports further said the partnership will create a new generation of storytelling in India.
Additionally, the initial venture from Netflix and Yash Raj Films’ move is driven by The Railway Men series. It featured R. Madhavan and Kay Kay Menon and was directed by Shiv Rawail.
On the other hand, Netflix attempted to appeal to a vast range of anime fans. It produced a live-action remake of the anime show One Piece.
According to some viewers and avid fans of the original, the remake felt bland and generic. They said that it took away the dynamism and personality of the anime. Also, they topped it with unnecessarily elaborate yet uninteresting production design.
